About the Geoscience Main Building
The main building features a conventional concrete structure clad with metal panels, glass, and precast and off-form concrete. It has a curved metal deck roof with skylights and cowls to maximize natural light. The support building is a concrete slab-on-ground construction with structural steel framing, cement sheet, aluminium frame glazing, and lightweight concrete panels.
The building’s design sought to co-locate and integrate disparate elements of the organisation, enhance client focus and service, provide efficiency and functionality, and demonstrate a pragmatic response to Ecologically Sustainable Development (ESD) principles.
